Peter Lohmeyer, born on January 22, 1962, in Niedermarsberg, Germany, is a renowned actor recognized for his extensive contributions to film and television, with over a hundred appearances since his career began in 1980. As the youngest of three siblings, Lohmeyer's upbringing was influenced by his father, Dieter Lohmeyer, who was a Protestant pastor. This familial role led him to attend various schools, including the Albrecht-Dürer-Gymnasium in Hagen from 1972 to 1974, the Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Stuttgart from 1974 to 1976, and finally the Stadtgymnasium Dortmund until 1981. He pursued acting studies at the Westfälische Schauspielschule in Bochum from 1982 to 1984 but left before completing his degree.

Lohmeyer made his theatrical debut in the play "Was heißt hier Liebe" at Schauspielhaus Bochum, subsequently performing in prominent theaters across Germany, including Düsseldorf and Berlin’s Schiller Theater. He returned to Bochum in 2009 for a revival of "Menschen im Hotel." His television career began with "Der Kampfschwimmer" in 1983, and he gained fame through the series "Die Straßen von Berlin" (1995-1998) and the acclaimed film "The Miracle of Bern" (2003). Lohmeyer received notable accolades, including the German Film Award in Gold for "Trains’n’Roses" and a Bavarian TV Award for "Der Elefant in meinem Bett." He is a father of four, with three children from his previous relationship with Katrin Klamroth and a son, Ivo, from another partnership. Lohmeyer was married to chef Sarah Wiener from 2008 until July 2014.
