Plot

Heidi, an eight-year-old orphan from Switzerland, is entrusted to her reclusive grandfather who lives in the mountains. However, her aunt reclaim her and takes her to Frankfurt, where she becomes a companion to Klara, a disabled girl confined to a wheelchair. Despite the luxurious surroundings of the Sesemann household, Heidi feels out of place and yearns for her grandfather’s love and the freedom of the alpine landscape. As she navigates her new life, Heidi strives to bring joy to Klara while grappling with her own longing for home.
