Coleen Gray
Coleen Gray, originally named Doris Bernice Jensen, was born on October 23, 1922, in Staplehurst, Nebraska. Following her high school graduation, she pursued her passion for acting at Hamline University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Eager to explore the country, she traveled to California, making a stop in La Jolla to work as a waitress. After a short stint there, she relocated to Los Angeles and enrolled in a prestigious drama school.
Her talent quickly caught the eye of a talent scout from 20th Century-Fox, leading to a contract after an impressive screen test. During her time with the studio, Gray appeared in several notable films, including "Kiss of Death" (1947), "Nightmare Alley" (1947), and "The Razor's Edge" (1946). Despite her undeniable skills, many of the roles she was offered did not fully showcase her potential, preventing her from achieving the stardom that many believed she deserved. Nevertheless, Coleen Gray built an extensive and varied career, accumulating numerous credits across film, television, radio, and theater. She passed away on August 3, 2015, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry.
