Marco López
Marco Antonio Lopez, born on September 10, 1935, in Los Angeles, is a seasoned American actor known for his extensive work in television and film. He gained early experience in the industry as a stand-in for the legendary Elvis Presley during the production of the 1956 film, Love Me Tender.
Lopez’s breakthrough came in 1971 when he was cast as Firefighter Marco Lopez in the iconic television series Emergency!, created by Jack Webb and Robert Cinader. This role made him a household name, as audiences tuned in weekly to follow the thrilling adventures of paramedics and firefighters. Interestingly, Lopez used his real name for the character, which occasionally led to misconceptions about his actual background with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Following the conclusion of Emergency! in 1979, Lopez continued to build his career with guest appearances on popular series such as MacGyver, Mission: Impossible, The New Adam-12, The Lloyd Bridges Show, Murder, She Wrote, and The Six Million Dollar Man. In film, he made a memorable, albeit uncredited, appearance alongside stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Julia Roberts in America's Sweethearts. Additionally, he was part of the original cast of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, contributing his image to the production from 1964 to 1968. Through his diverse roles and enduring presence, Marco Lopez has left a lasting imprint on the television landscape.
