George Nader
George Garfield Nader, Jr. (October 19, 1921 – February 4, 2002) was a prominent American actor and author of Lebanese heritage. His film career spanned from the early 1950s to the mid-1970s, featuring notable appearances in titles such as *Sins of Jezebel* (1953), *Congo Crossing* (1956), and *The Female Animal* (1958). Nader also ventured into television, landing a leading role in NBC's *The Man and the Challenge* from 1959 to 1960. In the 1960s, he gained recognition in Germany for his portrayal of FBI agent Jerry Cotton in a series of films. One of his earliest significant roles was in the cult classic *Robot Monster* (1953), often cited as one of the worst films in cinematic history.
Throughout his career, Nader maintained a private life, being discreetly gay and sharing a close friendship with Rock Hudson, alongside his long-term partner, Mark Miller. After stepping back from the limelight, he turned his focus to writing, producing the science-fiction novel *Chrome* (1978), which explored a positive narrative surrounding a same-sex relationship. Nader's contributions to film and literature reflect both his artistic talent and his commitment to representing LGBTQ+ themes in his work.
