Stuart Randall
Stuart Randall, born on July 24, 1909, and passing away on June 22, 1988, was a notable American actor who made significant contributions to both film and television from 1950 to 1971.
He is most recognized for his role as Sheriff Mort Corey in the western television series *Laramie*, where he appeared in thirty-four episodes between April 4, 1961, and April 20, 1963. Interestingly, he had previously appeared in three earlier episodes of the series under different character names.
Randall's acting career began with a sheriff role in the 1950 Roy Rogers film *Bells of Coronado*. He also played a police commissioner in the classic film *Pickup on South Street*. In 1954, he featured as a sheriff in the "Belle Starr" episode of the syndicated series *Stories of the Century*, which was hosted by Jim Davis.
In 1955, he took on the character of Tom Garvey in the "Cattle Drive to Casper" episode of the NBC anthology series *Frontier*, alongside notable actors like Jack Elam and Beverly Garland. Additionally, from 1958 to 1959, Randall played Sheriff Art Sampson (later credited as Art Simpson) in the NBC series *Cimarron City*, which depicted life in an Oklahoma boomtown and co-starred John Smith. Through these roles, Randall left a lasting imprint on the television and film landscape of his time.
