William Gargan

Gargan was a versatile American actor renowned for his work in film, television, and radio. Throughout his career, he took on numerous character roles in various Hollywood productions, notably portraying the detective Ellery Queen in two different adaptations. However, he gained significant recognition for his role as Detective Martin Kane in the radio and television series, Martin Kane, Private Eye, which aired from 1949 to 1951 and was sponsored by U.S. Tobacco.
In addition to this prominent role, Gargan also featured as a private detective in the NBC radio program Barrie Craig, Confidential Investigator, a show that ran from 1951 to 1955. His performances endeared him to audiences and showcased his talent across different media.
