Morrissey

Steven Patrick Morrissey, widely recognized simply as Morrissey, is an influential English singer, songwriter, and writer. He gained fame as the frontman of the iconic indie rock band The Smiths, which operated between 1982 and 1987. Under his leadership, the band became a defining force in the alternative music scene, known for their distinctive sound and poignant lyrics.

The Smiths released four critically acclaimed studio albums during their brief tenure: *The Smiths* (1984), *Meat Is Murder* (1985), *The Queen Is Dead* (1986), and *Strangeways, Here We Come* (1987). Morrissey’s unique vocal style and provocative songwriting addressed themes of love, isolation, and social commentary, establishing him as a voice of a generation.

After The Smiths disbanded, Morrissey embarked on a successful solo career, marking his debut with the album *Viva Hate* in 1988.
