James Mitchum
James Mitchum, born on May 8, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, is a distinguished American actor known as the eldest son of the legendary Robert Mitchum. He shares the spotlight with his brother, Christopher Mitchum, and is the uncle of actor Bentley Mitchum.
James made his acting debut at a tender age of eight in a minor, uncredited role in the Western film Colorado Territory (1949), featuring notable stars like Joel McCrea and Virginia Mayo. His first credited performance came in the 1958 cult classic Thunder Road, where he portrayed a younger version of his father’s character—a role originally intended for Elvis Presley, who backed out due to financial disputes with his manager. The film gained a devoted following in the 1970s and ’80s. Mitchum was also "introduced" in the pilot episode of the series Have Gun Will Travel titled "Genesis" in 1962.

Notably, his role as Grady Hagg in Moonrunners (1975) served as inspiration for the beloved television series The Dukes of Hazzard. His filmography extends into the late 20th century with projects like Ransom (1977), Hollywood Cop (1987), and Fatal Mission (1990).
