Plot

Luke Doolin, portrayed by Robert Mitchum, is a defiant moonshine runner in Tennessee, juggling perilous deliveries for his father, Vernon (Trevor Bardette). Despite the lure of the family trade, he forbids his younger brother Robin (James Mitchum) from joining the risky venture. As pressure mounts from ruthless gangster Kogan (Jacques Aubuchon), eager to claim local territory, and determined Treasury agent Barrett (Gene Barry), who aims to dismantle the illegal operation, Luke desperately defends his dwindling lifestyle against the encroaching threats from all sides.
