Mitchell Ryan (January 11, 1934 – March 4, 2022) was a prominent American actor, best recognized for his role as Edward Montgomery on the hit television series *Dharma & Greg*. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Ryan served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his military service, he joined the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, where he made his acting debut in *Thunder Road* alongside the theatre's founder, Robert Porterfield.

Ryan gained fame as one of the original cast members of the cult classic series *Dark Shadows*. His extensive filmography includes notable appearances in films such as *Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers*, *Liar, Liar*, *Magnum Force*, *Lethal Weapon*, *Grosse Pointe Blank*, *Electra Glide in Blue*, and *Hot Shots! Part Deux*. In 1973, he took center stage in the lead role of the television series *Chase*.

On Broadway, Ryan showcased his talent in productions like *Wait Until Dark*, *Medea*, and *The Price*. Throughout his life, he experienced two marriages, both of which ended in divorce, and he was a proud father to three children.
