Nora Ricci
Eleonora Ricci, known as Nora Ricci, was born on July 19, 1924, in Viareggio, Tuscany, and passed away on April 16, 1976. She was a prominent Italian actress, hailing from a family steeped in the performing arts; her parents were actors Renzo Ricci and Margherita Bagni, and her step-grandfather was the renowned Ermete Zacconi.
At the age of 17, Ricci relocated to Rome to pursue her passion for acting at the Academy of Dramatic Arts. It was there that she met her future husband, Vittorio Gassman. The couple married in 1944 and welcomed their only daughter, actress Paola Gassman, in June 1945. However, their marriage was short-lived, ending in divorce in 1952, allowing Gassman to marry actress Shelley Winters.
Ricci's career began in 1943 with a theatrical company led by Laura Adani. Over the years, she showcased her talent across various mediums, including stage productions, radio, television, and film. She collaborated with notable directors such as Luchino Visconti, Pietro Germi, and Liliana Cavani, leaving an indelible mark on Italian cinema. After a prolonged battle with illness, Nora Ricci died at the age of 51, leaving behind a rich legacy in the performing arts.
