Pearce began his journey in the entertainment industry as Mike Young on the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours from 1986 to 1989, which earned him a devoted fan base. His breakthrough role came with the iconic film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in 1994, which catapulted him to international fame. He further solidified his status as a leading actor with his portrayal of Ed Exley in the critically acclaimed film L.A. Confidential (1997) and the complex character with short-term memory loss in Christopher Nolan's Memento (2000).
