Norbert Weisser
Norbert Weisser, born on July 9, 1946, in Germany, is a versatile film and theatre actor who has made a significant impact on both stage and screen in the United States. He is particularly recognized for his extensive collaboration with filmmaker Albert Pyun, having appeared in over 15 of his films. Weisser is also a co-founder of the renowned Odyssey Theater and the Padua Hills Playwrights Festival, where he notably portrayed the character of Trickster in Murray Mednick's ambitious seven-hour production, The Coyote Cycle.
His stage credits span various prestigious venues, including a notable performance on Broadway as Rode alongside Ed Harris in Ronald Harwood's Taking Sides at the Brooks Atkinson Theater. More recently, he earned acclaim for his role as Oskar in John O'Keefe's Times Like These, performing in cities such as San Francisco, Albany, New York, and Los Angeles. This role garnered him an Ovation Award, an LA Weekly Theater Award, and a nomination from the LA Drama Critics Circle.
In addition to acting, Weisser has directed plays at the Magic Theater in San Francisco and at the Mark Taper Forum’s New Playwrights Festival in Los Angeles. He also produced two films for Albert Pyun, titled Infection and Cool Air, featuring his son, actor Morgan Weisser.
