Dana Rosemary Scallon, known simply as Dana, is an accomplished Irish singer and songwriter. She gained international fame at a young age when she clinched victory in the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest with her enchanting song "All Kinds of Everything." This success not only catapulted her into the spotlight but also resulted in the track becoming a global hit, selling millions of copies worldwide.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Dana ventured into the political arena in 1997, running for the Irish presidency under her full name, Dana Rosemary Scallon. Although her initial bid was unsuccessful, she continued her political journey and was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) representing Connacht–Ulster in 1999. During her tenure, which lasted until 2004, she focused on various issues impacting her constituents.

Dana returned to the presidential race in 2011 as an independent candidate but was eliminated after the first count.
