Lawrence John Miller, born on October 15, 1953, is a multifaceted American talent known for his work as a comedian, actor, podcaster, and columnist. Often celebrated as a character actor, he has garnered praise for enhancing every film and television project he participates in, according to The A.V. Club. Among his notable performances are Lou Bonaparte in the sitcom Mad About You (1993–1998), the Pointy-haired Boss in Dilbert (1999–2000), and Edwin Poole in Boston Legal (2004–2008). He also appeared in memorable roles such as Mr. Hollister in Pretty Woman (1990), Dean Richmond in The Nutty Professor (1996) and its sequel, and Walter Stratford in 10 Things I Hate About You (1999). Miller reprised the role of Walter in the TV adaptation of the same name, which aired from 2009 to 2010, and also appeared as Paolo Puttanesca in The Princess Diaries series (2001, 2004).
