Andy Dick
Andrew Roane Dick, born Andrew Thomlinson on December 21, 1965, in Charleston, South Carolina, is a well-known American actor and comedian. He honed his craft in improvisational theater with The Second City, setting the stage for a vibrant career in comedy. Dick's journey through stand-up comedy has taken him across the United States, where he has released multiple comedy albums and made his mark on both television and film.
His breakout role on television came with a regular spot on The Ben Stiller Show, which aired on Fox. Throughout the mid-1990s, he gained further recognition for his performances on NBC's NewsRadio and as a supporting character in Less than Perfect. Dick also created two short-lived series for MTV: the sketch comedy show The Andy Dick Show in 2001 and the reality series The Assistant in 2004. He is particularly remembered for his appearances on Comedy Central Roasts, late-night talk shows, and his distinctive stand-up routines.
Despite his comedic talents, Dick's career has been marred by personal struggles, including battles with drug addiction and various allegations of misconduct. He has publicly acknowledged his challenges with substance abuse, stating that he has entered rehabilitation programs over 20 times. In 2022, following a conviction related to a 2018 incident, he was mandated to register as a sex offender.
