Pedro Armendáriz Jr.
Pedro Armendáriz Bohr (April 6, 1940 – December 26, 2011), widely recognized as Pedro Armendáriz Jr., was a distinguished Mexican actor known for his contributions to both American and Mexican cinema and television. Born in Mexico City to acclaimed actor Pedro Armendáriz and Carmela Bohr, he carved a notable path in the entertainment industry.
Armendáriz Jr.'s career featured significant roles, including his portrayal of President Hector Lopez in the iconic James Bond film, "Licence to Kill." He made appearances in several noteworthy films such as "Amistad" (1997), "The Mask of Zorro" (1998), "The Mexican" (2001), and "Original Sin" (2001). His versatility was further showcased in projects like "In the Time of the Butterflies" (2001), "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" (2003), and "The Legend of Zorro" (2005). His final work, "Freelancers," was released posthumously in 2012.
In November 2011, Armendáriz Jr. faced a personal battle, being diagnosed with eye cancer. He passed away on December 26, 2011, at the age of 71, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. His remains were interred at Panteón Jardín in Mexico City, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire actors and audiences alike.
