Harvey Keitel
Harvey Keitel, born on May 13, 1939, is a distinguished American actor celebrated for his intense portrayals of complex and often morally ambiguous characters. He emerged as a significant figure in the New Hollywood era, establishing a noteworthy collaboration with acclaimed director Martin Scorsese. Over the years, Keitel has featured in six of Scorsese’s films, including landmark works such as Who's That Knocking at My Door (1967), Mean Streets (1973), and Taxi Driver (1976), showcasing his ability to navigate the gritty underbelly of urban America.
His performance as Mickey Cohen in Bugsy (1991) garnered him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, while his role in The Piano (1993) earned him the AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Keitel's filmography is rich and diverse, with memorable performances in Blue Collar (1978), Reservoir Dogs (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), and the horror-comedy From Dusk till Dawn (1996).
