In the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Xolani, a solitary factory worker, takes a break from his job to help at a traditional Xhosa initiation ceremony. Set in a secluded mountain camp where women are forbidden, young men, adorned in white ochre, recover while absorbing their cultural notions of masculinity. Amidst the prevailing machismo, Xolani develops a bond with Kwanda, a rebellious initiate from Johannesburg. As their relationship deepens, Kwanda uncovers Xolani's hidden truth: his love for another man, challenging the rigid expectations of their world.
