Plot

As the California Gold Rush ignites, Senator Frost's spirited daughter, Caroline, finds herself enamored with a young army officer, much to her father's dismay. Determined to be with him, she defies her father’s wishes and embarks on a thrilling journey across land and water. Along the way, she encounters an eccentric Russian prince and the charming gambler Johnny Lawlor, both of whom bring unexpected excitement to her quest.
