Plot
In "The Virgin Spring," devoted Christians Töre and Märeta entrust their innocent daughter, Karin, along with their wayward foster daughter, Ingeri, to undertake a journey through the woods to deliver candles to a far-off church. Their path takes a dark turn when they are confronted by a band of ruthless goat herders, who viciously assault and kill Karin while Ingeri watches from the shadows. Unbeknownst to the killers, they later find shelter at Töre and Märeta's farmhouse. Fueled by grief and anger, Töre devises a plan to exact his revenge on the perpetrators of this horrific crime.
