Plot

Set against the backdrop of World War II, a tank commander named Kalashnikov faces life-altering injuries during battle in 1941. Unable to rejoin his comrades, he finds solace in a hospital, where his creativity ignites. Drawing inspiration from his experiences, he sketches the designs for what will evolve into a revolutionary weapon. By age 29, this self-taught inventor introduces the AK-47, a firearm that becomes a symbol of power worldwide. Filmed in the striking landscapes of occupied Crimea, the narrative intertwines personal struggle with the birth of an iconic piece of military history.
