Plot

Set against the backdrop of the 1947 communist uprising in Malaya, a British army entertainment troupe, SADUSEA (Song And Dance Unit South East Asia), is dispatched to the jungle to lift soldiers' spirits. Led by the quirky Major Giles Flack, played by John Cleese, the unit includes the aging theatrical performer Terri Dennis, portrayed by Denis Quilley, whose extravagant impressions fall flat with the disinterested troops. As boredom sets in, the soldiers seek alternative distractions, leading to a humorous exploration of camaraderie and chaos in the midst of conflict.
