Plot
Set in 1870s Ryevsk, Russia, the Karamazov family is rife with conflict. Wealthy and hedonistic, Fyodor tightly controls his fortunes, driving a wedge between him and his eldest son, Dmitri, an impoverished officer engaged to the beautiful and affluent Katya. The family dynamic further complicates with a sterile artist, a bastard half-brother, and a devout monk. Tensions escalate when Dmitri falls for his father's mistress, the alluring Grushenka.
