Plot

A Broadway musical revue faces chaos when its demanding star abruptly quits during rehearsals. Director and choreographer Ted Sturgis proposes casting an unknown talent, leading to a surge of eager auditioners. Musical composer Leo Belney supports ballerina Joanna Moss, while assistant Bob Dowdy is infatuated with newcomer Suzy Doolittle. Tension escalates when producer Felix Jordan convinces Ted's ex-dance partner, Madelyn Corlan, to return from retirement and audition, creating an awkward situation for Ted.
