Plot
Set against the backdrop of occupied France in 1942, a Jewish refugee enters a marriage with a soldier to evade deportation. Concurrently, a privileged art student grapples with the loss of her first husband, a victim of a stray bullet from the Resistance. After the Liberation, she finds a new love with an actor, leading to an unexpected pregnancy and marriage. By 1952, Lena and Madeleine cross paths at their children’s school in Lyon, igniting a passionate connection that threatens to unravel their already fragile marriages.
