Plot
Affluent ranch owner Bick Benedict finds himself in competition with impoverished cowboy Jett Rink for the affections of Leslie Lynnton, an enchanting young woman who has just arrived in Texas from Maryland. After marrying Bick, Leslie is taken aback by the rampant racial prejudice exhibited by White Texans towards the local Mexican community. Meanwhile, Jett strikes oil on a modest piece of land, using his newfound fortune to acquire the properties surrounding the Benedict ranch. The clash between the Benedicts and Rink, rooted in deep-seated biases, ignites a conflict that spans generations.
