Plot

Ben Lee, a lackadaisical Hong Kong student, forms a bond with his diligent mainland Chinese classmate, Chang Chih, while studying in Japan. As Ben prioritizes wealth over academics, Chih obsessively seeks news of his long-lost childhood love whenever he meets fellow Chinese. Meanwhile, Ming, another Hong Kong local, aspires to climb the social ladder by courting bar hostess Yuriko, aiming to wed her and secure a connection with the powerful Yakuza leader, Yamada Ishikawa. Their intertwined journeys highlight the struggles of ambition, love, and the search for identity in a foreign land.
