Plot

Jobless intellectual Beauregard Bottomley seeks employment at Burnbridge Waters’ soap company, only to face rejection. Determined to get even, he joins a TV quiz show funded by Waters, aiming to win big and ruin the businessman financially. As Bottomley dazzles audiences with his knowledge and rises to fame, Waters grows increasingly anxious. In a last-ditch effort, he enlists the help of the alluring Flame O'Neal to find and exploit Bottomley's vulnerabilities, setting the stage for a battle of wits and ambition.
