Plot
In "The Mission," a Spanish Jesuit ventures into the heart of the South American jungle with the aim of establishing a mission to convert the local indigenous tribes. Along the way, he unexpectedly gains an ally in a former slave hunter who embraces his cause. However, their efforts face a critical challenge when Spain transfers control of the colony to Portugal, compelling the Jesuit and his followers to defend their hard-earned sanctuary against the encroaching Portuguese forces, risking everything they've worked for in their quest for peace and understanding.
