Jeremy John Irons, born on September 19, 1948, is a renowned English actor and advocate. He honed his craft at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, launching his theatrical career in 1969, and has since graced the stages of numerous West End productions. His impressive repertoire includes Shakespearean classics like The Winter's Tale, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, and Richard II. In 1984, he made his Broadway debut in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.
Irons gained widespread recognition for his role in the ITV series Brideshead Revisited (1981), often cited as one of the finest British dramas and literary adaptations, a performance that earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
