Despite widespread disapproval of the leather-clad, spiky-haired youth covered in tattoos, a generation was undeterred. Little did anyone know that a small club in Costa Mesa, California, would give rise to a multi-billion dollar youth culture that continues to thrive today. This venue, known as the Cuckoos Nest during the late 70s and early 80s, served as a sanctuary for a burgeoning movement. Through a mix of archival footage and new material, the filmmakers tell a heartfelt story about this refuge, highlighting the fears of the establishment and the police force that struggled to comprehend the unfolding scene.
