Carlos Ramirez, an aspiring illustrator, dreams of breaking into New York City's commercial comic book world, far from his Latino neighborhood of Washington Heights. However, his ambitions are derailed when his father, owner of a local bodega, becomes the victim of a violent robbery. Suddenly responsible for the family store, Carlos grapples with his identity and the importance of community. Through this experience, he realizes that to truly succeed as an artist, he must embrace his roots and weave the richness of his neighborhood into his creative journey.
