Plot

In June 1946, Stalin lures Russian émigrés back to their homeland, promising a warm welcome. However, upon arrival in Odessa, the reality is grim: only a physician and his family escape execution or imprisonment. Sent to Kiev, the doctor faces a precarious situation while his French wife, her passport destroyed, yearns to flee back to France. As tensions rise, he must navigate their captivity, balancing her desperate desire for freedom against the grim reality of their situation, where every move is fraught with danger.
