Deneuve rose to fame through her captivating performances as enigmatic and sophisticated women in films directed by notable filmmakers such as Jacques Demy, Luis Buñuel, François Truffaut, and Roman Polanski. In 1985, she took on the prestigious role of Marianne, the embodiment of liberty in France, succeeding Mireille Mathieu.
