Plot

Jon, a young peasant, is torn between his deep love for the land and his feelings for his fiancée, Florica. After achieving ownership of his farm, he realizes that his heart still belongs to Florica, despite marrying Ana. Overwhelmed by his desires, Ion's neglect leads to Ana's tragic suicide. Now free and prosperous, Ion seeks to reclaim Florica, but fate takes a dark turn when her husband, George, confronts him. In a brutal act of vengeance, George brutally kills Ion, sealing the tragic consequences of unfulfilled love and betrayal.
