Plot
Hattie, a sex worker in New Orleans, encounters photographer Bellocq during a visit to her brothel. Their connection deepens when he forms a bond with her 12-year-old daughter, Violet. When Hattie leaves to marry, Violet is thrust into the world of sex work under her mother’s madam. As she grapples with her lost childhood, her longing to reconnect with Bellocq intensifies. However, Violet’s dreams of a future with him are threatened by Hattie’s unexpected return to the city, complicating her life and choices.
