Plot

Liberty, a sex worker grappling with an unexpected pregnancy, is on a frantic quest for stable housing. Her ex-boyfriend and former pimp, King, faces his own challenges as he tries to provide for his family. Concurrently, Augustin, an undocumented teenager, battles homelessness in East Oakland, evading a relentless bully from the shelter. Adding to the complexity, Wei-Ling copes with the loss of her husband, who dies suddenly while scavenging for cans, pushing their son Jimmy to find a way to financially support the family in their time of need.
