Plot

Terry Dolan, a young boxer enjoying an undefeated streak, struggles with his deception towards his ailing mother about his passion for the sport. Confiding in Maisie, he admits his fear and disdain for boxing, yearning for a way out. Despite his loyalty to his best friend and manager, Skeets Maguire, who dreams of a championship future for him, Terry hesitates to voice his feelings. Encouraged by Maisie, he finally confronts Skeets, whose surprising response pushes Terry back into the ring, complicating his desire for freedom from the sport he dreads.
