Plot

Admiral Frank Beardsley arrives in New London to oversee the Coast Guard Academy, balancing his duties as a widowed father of eight. His structured household contrasts sharply with the vibrant chaos of Helen North's life, a designer and mother of ten, whose home thrives on spontaneity. Reuniting at a high school gathering reignites their romance, leading to an impulsive marriage.
