Plot

Bobby Joe Smith returns to his small hometown, transformed into a Hollywood star with a new name and perspective. He rekindles his romance with Jenny Jenkins, his childhood love, but faces opposition from her father, the town's reverend. Concerned that Bobby Joe has become morally corrupt, the reverend attempts to sever their bond, even resorting to hiring local toughs to intimidate Bobby Joe and prevent him from participating in Homecoming festivities. Tensions escalate, culminating in a shocking climax that reveals the depths of jealousy and the struggle for redemption.
