In 1919 Paris, the turbulent life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani unfolds against the backdrop of his fierce competition with Pablo Picasso. As Modigliani, a Jewish painter, grapples with his artistic legacy, he finds solace in a passionate romance with Jeanne, a stunning Catholic woman. Their love leads to an unacknowledged child, but Jeanne's prejudiced parents intervene, sending their baby to a distant convent to be raised by nuns. The film paints a poignant portrait of love, loss, and the struggle for acceptance in a world rife with prejudice.
