Plot

One Man's Hero explores the compelling tale of the San Patricios, a battalion composed primarily of Irish and other Catholic immigrants who defected to Mexico during the Mexican-American War, spurred by experiences of ethnic and religious discrimination in the U.S. Army. Central to the narrative is John Riley, an Irish sergeant turned Mexican captain, who takes command of the battalion.
