Plot

In 1983, Will Parker, an ambitious yacht sailor, rallies an American team backed by wealthy financier Morgan Weld to take on the Australian crew in the America's Cup. To regain the prestigious trophy, Will persuades Morgan to support the construction of an innovative boat conceived by Joe Heisler, the current partner of his former girlfriend, Kate. With the groundbreaking vessel ready, the determined Americans set sail for Australia, hoping to snatch victory from their rivals and restore their nation's pride on the water.
