Plot
Egbert Sousé finds himself in the spotlight after a clumsy bank robber trips over the bench he’s sitting on, turning him into an unlikely hero. As a result, he secures a position as a bank guard. Shortly after, con artist J. Frothingham Waterbury approaches him with a dubious investment opportunity in a mining venture. Eager to capitalize, Egbert convinces teller Og Oggilby to lend him funds from the bank, promising to repay it once the scheme yields profits. However, their plans are jeopardized when bank inspector Snoopington unexpectedly arrives.
