Plot
Mary Rafferty hails from a struggling family of steelworkers in 19th Century Pittsburgh. Defying her family's wishes, she takes a job as a maid for the affluent Scott family, who own the mill. Her life takes a turn when she captures the interest of dashing heir Paul Scott. However, their burgeoning romance faces significant obstacles, including Paul's prior engagement and the brewing tensions from a fierce strike among the mill workers. As loyalties are tested, Mary must navigate her heart and the harsh realities of class division in a turbulent era.
