Plot

When Inspector Lee from Hong Kong is called to Los Angeles to look into a kidnapping, the FBI is reluctant to involve outsiders and instead assigns brash LAPD Detective James Carter to keep Lee occupied. However, Lee refuses to sit idly by and, alongside Carter, they forge an unexpected alliance to pursue the investigation on their own.
