The Train (1964)
Plot
In August 1944, as Allied forces close in on Paris, German Colonel Von Waldheim is determined to transport France's priceless artworks back to Germany. He secures a train for this mission amidst the chaos of retreat. Meanwhile, the French Resistance is resolved to thwart this theft, albeit under orders from London to avoid destruction of the art. Labiche, the station master, is caught between his duty to ensure the train's departure and his commitment to the Resistance. Alongside fellow fighters, he orchestrates a clever deception aimed at preventing the train from ever leaving French soil.
