Andreï Filipov, once celebrated as "The Maëstro" of the Bolshoï orchestra, now finds himself cleaning the very concert hall where he once conducted, after his career was derailed by the oppressive regime of Leonid Brezhnev for employing Jewish musicians. When he stumbles upon an invitation to perform at the prestigious Théâtre du Châtelet, he embarks on a wild quest to reunite his old, ailing orchestra, now a band of washed-up alcoholics. Together, they fly to Paris to finally complete a Tchaikovsky concerto interrupted three decades prior, with the help of a young soloist who sparks a surprising bond.
